Wits Foundation UK Privacy Statement

The Wits Foundation UK is registered as a charitable organisation in the United Kingdom and was established in particular for the advancement of education at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (Wits University). It is a separate legal entity from the University. In line with its charitable aims it accepts donations and when a donor stipulates that a donation should be sent to Wits, the Foundation sends the funding to the University together with details associated with the donation.

Donor information is kept securely by the Foundation and includes details that are necessary for accounting and tax purposes (e.g. HMRC Gift Aid). Such information is shared with the HMRC, with the Foundation’s accountants and auditors and, where relevant, with Wits University.  Information shared with Wits includes the details of donations as well as contact details of donors.  The Foundation does not sell such information or share it for commercial purposes. 

You may wish to ask the Foundation to update or correct the information it holds about you.
